Matt Lawrey is one of life's great enthusiasts.

The Little Things is the latest project in a career that has seen him work in print, radio, television and local politics.

Highlights have included winning two New Zealand Radio Awards, working as a TV presenter for New Zealand’s national lottery and presenting the TV ONE show Business Is Booming; and lately, becoming a Councillor for Nelson City.

Originally from Wellington, he travelled extensively in his childhood and after university called Japan home for three years for embarking on a nine-month mountain bike tour of Southeast Asia.

A father of two, Matt was lured to Nelson by a job offer he couldn't refuse in 1998 and has been crazy about the place ever since. His passions include his family, politics, movies and Nelson. He also loves swimming, walking the family dog and hanging out with friends at the pub.

Looking at The Little Things it comes as no surprise to learn that artist and illustrator Peter Lole likes to keep things simple. The way he sees it, when it comes to visuals, the concept is more important than the technique.

Originally from the UK, he graduated from Coventry College of Art before landing his first job in a commercial art studio where his duties included getting morning tea for 40.

Peter dreamed of a life in California but only got as far as Toronto in Canada. It was there that he and Jean started their own family of little things and Peter embarked on his career as a freelance illustrator, a move that led to the cut and thrust world of advertising and design.

When the cut and thrusts began to hurt, Peter and family headed south- real South-all the way to New Zealand. Peter's passions include his family, illustration and design, reading, and walking the dog all around the amazingly beautiful tracks around around Tahunanui, Nelson.
